Understanding European and National Key Policies and Legislation

The project developer should begin by developing an understanding of what are the key National policies in relation to wind and applicable legislation.

A database is provided in this ELREN website of:
a) European policies (link)
b) associated European and national legislation (link).

Identifying Prospects for Wind-energy Development

This can be best achieved by:
a) analysing relevant policies and legislation at all levels
b) attending relevant wind-energy conferences and events
c) studying main documents published by public and private bodies promoting wind-energy development.
Membership of wind energy associations is always beneficial. In addition, visits to other wind farms are also recommended.
