The scope of the Prospects for renewable electricity in the new EU Member States document (2006 ed) is to provide a brief overview of the overall context in which investments in RE will take place in short to medium term in the New Member States (NMS) of the EU and to present some preliminary results of a quantitative analysis on the potentials for various RES-E technologies to be deployed in the region in short to medium term as well as their cost.

EurObserv’ER, 4th RE Assessment Barometer --

EurObserv’ER collects data concerning RE sources in the EU in order to describe status and dynamics of these sectors in thematic barometers.
The 4th RE Assessment Barometer (2004 ed) is the synthesis of the work carried out and published (issues 159 to 164 Systèmes Solaires magazine). This publication offers a survey of the dynamics of 8 renewable energy sectors. As background reference, sector performances are measured in comparison with EC White Paper objectives.

Durable, modular and flexible in use, as demonstrated by the different case studies in this publication, photovoltaics can replace diverse building elements, from glas facades to weather proof roofs. This leaflet (16 pages) of interest to architects, published by CLER under the PREDAC project, describes aesthetic, technical, economic and environmental aspects of building integrated photovoltaics.

Local Energy Information Centre, Methodological Guide (2003 ed). This booklet (32 pages), published by CLER under the PREDAC project with the support of EC and ADEME, deals with Energy Information Centres (EIC) existing in Europe. The EIC's goal is to promote RE and Energy Conservation in the 6 PREDAC partner countries. ThE booklet is a methodological guide defining concretely how an EIC should operate. It gives also key rules for implementing new EICs and proposes detailed examples from the partner countries with comparisons between them. The document is also available in the following languages: ES, FR, IT.

Local Investment in Renewable Energy (2003 ed). Although the vast majority of RE projects are established by commercial developers, some of them are financed by «ordinary citizens» pooling together through different schemes. This is particularly frequent in Denmark and Germany - possibly a key reason for the continuous and so successful growth of various RE sources in these countries. This leaflet (8 pages) provides: a definition of local investment, examples, 4 golden rules and 4 good reasons to favour local investment.

List of Courses and Trainings in Europe in the Field of Sustainable Energy (2003 ed). This booklet (176 pages), published by CLER under the PREDAC project with the support of EC and ADEME, is the first training list concerning sustainable energy in Europe. It gives an overview of the existing training offer in the field of RE for each of the former 15 EU member-States. Each list item includes details on pertinent institution, target group, tuition cost, duration and contacts.

Spatial planning of windturbines (2004 ed). This guide (32 pages), prepared by CLER under the PREDAC project, proposes guidelines for spatial planning for windfarms based on experiences carried out in Belgium, Denmark, France and the Netherlands. In addition experiences from Germany and Ireland have been also taken into consideration. Main decisive criteria for successful implementation of wind farms are analysed: landscape integration, stakeholders involvement, noise, distance from buildings, .... GWEC, Global Wind Energy Outlook 2006 --

This Global Wind Energy Outlook 2006 report, published by GWEC Global Wind Energy Council, examines the future potential for wind power up to the year 2050 and is an industry blueprint that explains how wind power could supply 34% of the world’s electricity by 2050 and 16.5% by 2020. Most importantly, wind power would save 1.5 billion tonnes of CO2 emissions in 2020.

IEA, Projected Costs of Generating Electricity - 2 --

This joint IEA/NEA study provides generation cost estimates for over a hundred power plants that use a variety of fuels and technologies. These include coal-fired, gas-fired, nuclear, hydro, solar and wind plants. Cost estimates are also given for combined heat and power plants that use coal, gas and combustible renewables.
