Austria, Admont biomass CHP plant  --   (226 K)  Hits: 5
Biomass-fired combined heat and power (CHP) plant, based on Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) process, installed at a timber processing factory in Admont.
[Project documented in EC's Energie publication "Renewable Energy^Best Practice Projects Yearbook 1997-2000", Biomass section]

Austria, Altheim district heating system  --   (216 K)  Hits: 3
District-heating network serving 5,000 inhabitants of Altheim, Upper Austria, and receiving heat from a geothermal plant drawing hot water from 2 wells, but also used to drive an Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) turbine to produce electricity. The cooled turbine water is reinjected into the aquifer.
[Project documented in EC's Energie publication "Renewable Energy^Best Practice Projects Yearbook 1997-2000", Geothermal section]

Austria, Bruck an der Leitha wind farm  --   (179 K)  Hits: 4
5-turbines 1.8 Mw grid-connected wind farm producing 1.5 times the electricity demand of the total population (3,500 households) in Bruck an der Leitha.
[Project documented in EC's Energie publication "Renewable Energy^Best Practice Projects Yearbook 1997-2000", Wind Energy section]

Austria, Griesmühle mini-hydro plant  --   (209 K)  Hits: 7
55 kw power capacity mini-hydro plant, “Griesmühle” is an old plant located in the hamlet of Walding, on the Great Rodl River, Upper Austria. It has been recently rehabilitated and the former mill converted into a low-energy building comprising 13 new apartments, whose electricity and heating needs are totally satisfied from the hydropower installations with the support of 2 heat-pumps mechanically driven from the water turbine.
[Project documented in EC's Energie publication "Renewable Energy^Best Practice Projects Yearbook 1997-2000", Small Hydro section]

Austria, Linz PV-facade office building  --   (219 K)  Hits: 2
Intelligent PV-panneling facade in “Wirtschaftshof" office building at Linz. The project's aim was to design a building with a low total RE energy consumption but with optimal working environment conditions of heat and light. The outcome was an energy-conscious architectural design, with solar PV louvres integrated into the façade. A thermohydraulic drive system continuously adapts the PV façade to the sun changing position and to user demands.
[Project documented in EC's Energie publication "Renewable Energy^Best Practice Projects Yearbook 1997-2000", SolarPV section]

Austria, Sattains Energiepark industrial complex  --   (209 K)  Hits: 2
Intelligent energy production+saving “Energiepark West” industrial building at Satteins, Vorarlberg. The so-called energy park was the first in Austria to draw its energy supply almost entirely from renewable sources. The project aimed at combining advanced energy technology and a functional building (1,330 sq.m manufacturing and 473 sq.m office space) with an interesting architectural design, use of environmentally friendly construction materials and low building costs.
[Project documented in EC's Energie publication "Renewable Energy^Best Practice Projects Yearbook 1997-2000", SolarPV section]

Belgium, Saint-Vith pilot wind project  --   (206 K)  Hits: 3

1-turbine 0.6 Mw pilot wind project in Saint-Vith district, Wallonia.
[Project documented in EC's Energie publication "Renewable Energy^Best Practice Projects Yearbook 1997-2000", Wind Energy section]

Denmark, Assens biomass-fired CHP district heating  --   (250 K)  Hits: 2
Biomass-fired combined heat and power (CHP) consumer-owned district heating plant in Assens.
[Project documented in EC's Energie publication "Renewable Energy^Best Practice Projects Yearbook 1997-2000", Biomass section]

Denmark, Brædstrup SOL-300 PV systems  --   (267 K)  Hits: 3
SOL-300 PV-systems have been installed on 300 roofs of houses at Brædstrup in Jutland and Funen. Most of the houses have been equipped with systems in the 0.9-6 kWp range, and the total capacity is 750 kWp.
[Project documented in EC's Energie publication "Renewable Energy^Best Practice Projects Yearbook 1997-2000", SolarPV section]

Denmark, Hagesholm wind farm  --   (212 K)  Hits: 5

6-turbine 12.0 Mw wind farm at Hagesholm in the municipal district of Holbæk.
